Summary
Improving our equine relationship: A series on an exploration into horsey language.
We all know how frustrating it can be when we encounter someone who speaks a different language and we just don’t get what they want, right? We do everything we can to bridge that communication gap, or give up, when misunderstandings can lead to quarrels and disappointment.
Guess what? Our horses probably feel the same, trying to communicate in their language, and when we don’t get it feel misunderstood and either stomp their feet in frustration, act out, or shut down. They certainly make an effort to understand what we want, so we owe it to them to do the same.
Learning to speak equine and their instinctive behaviours immensely benefits handling and training horses, creating a safe and non-stressful scenario full or respect and trust. And rewarding achievements in all spheres of the equestrian world, leisure and competitive.
This is what we will explore in detail in our Conscious Handling and Training series, stay tuned!
